Having voice lessons at the St. Scholastica’s College of Music (it’s not my regular school) is very inspiring. Before I enter my assigned music room, you pass a corridor filled with violin , cello, piano music etc. etc. It just gets into you. So I’ve asked my dad if he could buy me a violin so I could take violin lessons. And he readily agreed. Hah, I bet it’s because he prefers the soothing violin music over my electric guitar.

ooh you could be like Vanessa Mae.
You are so lucky Lauryn!!! I wanted a violin as well, parents prefered the guitar, oh well.
ooOOoh… lucky you!! i always wanted to learn violin. i\’ve finished piano up to Grade 8 about 3 years ago but my parents think it\’s too expensive to learn another instrument when i begged them to let me learn violin.
oh cool, the violin! great. im studying the violin too (but im often lazy to attend lessons).
{chuckles…}
Sounds like neither you nor your dad have heard a beginner violinist.
Learning those bowed instruments involves a lot of screaching and blood-curdling sour notes.
I took lessons for a little while on my grandmother\’s violin and tried to get somewhere with it for years but finally gave up. I think it takes more steady practice and dedication to sound OK on violin than it does for other instruments.
You can borrow one of my grandmother\’s violins, just to find out if you like it, if you want to pick it up next time you happen to be going through \"Clinton Cornfields\” (you should be picturing a \"blink and you\’ll miss it\” village in upstate, New York).
