We’ve lighted 3 of the fortune fountains…happiness, fortune and prosperity…the colors and explosive effects are so awesome even if it’s small…we’ll light up the luck, long life and success fountains at midnight. 30 more minutes left before 2002!!!

New year’s eve is here
firecrackers fill the air
lots of noise and smoke
Greeting the new year
blowing those colorful horns
Happy new year all!
Chinatown (or Binondo) was awesome. Even though the streets reeked of garbage stench and was strewn with spit, I was so happy that I got myself a lovely red silk cheong sam. The dress length was just mid way from my ankles and knees but the slit was pretty high up to my mid thighs. My dad who paid for it said I should wear pants or stockings underneath and I am like “DUH!". I really look good in it. After walking around , we decided to have lunch at this Chinese restaurant . The meal was great and two dragons even danced their way into the restaurants complete with drums and cymbals. I never saw anything like it and the “dragon” had to reach for the red envelope money taped to the ceiling of the restaurant. Then we brought a few sparklers , dancing fountains and these fortune fountains which we plan to light up tonight at the stroke of midnight.

So here’s to luck, happiness, prosperity, longlife, fortune, and success!
Tomorrow, my dad and I will troop to Chinatown (Binondo) and buy those spectacular fireworks. It’s better than firecrackers anytime. Did you know firecrackers in the Philippines are of an amazing strength - like real little hand grenades? About a hundred amputated fingers are reported for Metro Manila alone on New Year’s eve annually. The worse part is these local manufacturers add cow’s dung to make it more shattering. And so, there is this chance of getting infected with tetanus or something. Ahh New years eve will have the usual noisy racket and explosions here and there.
Aspens and I have one thing in common. We are both flatfooted. And it sucks…I get backaches all the time. When I was 7 till 9 years old, I wore orthotics but that didn’t help one bit. It just makes it more comfortable to walk. Maybe I should order that flatfoot insole. That reminds me. My future husband should know how to massage my back.
A day in the life of a cyberslacker…
Take this Spelling Testof 50 commonly misspelled words and see how you did right away. Ah, I missed 15 words. I don’t know if that is good or bad.
This Guide to Emoticons will come in quite handy when I add more clickable smilies at the Protagonist Boards. There are so many million things I have to configure but it’s worth it.
See how out of touch I am? I just found out that Lele redesigned. And this time it’s a collective of all her sites like journal, gallery , webcam and weblog. Wow, and to think a few months ago, she started out with a blog. Great work, Lele.
I’ve successfully upgraded to Ikonboard Gold…all registered members can log in using their old screen names and password at the new forums.the-protagonist.net. I’m still testing it so we aren’t moving yet till most of the bugs are ironed out.
