it’s a boy
I have a new baby boy cousin . Like I said earlier, his name is Matthew. We’re visiting my aunt and cousin tonight.

cousins!
My maternal aunt just smsed that she’s on labor and on her way to the hospital . Yay, a new cousin! She doesn’t know if it’s going to be a girl or a boy ( My aunt has 3 boys). If it’s a boy, she’ll name her Matthew. Woohoo, I just love that name. Matthew…Matthew…Matthew!! :heart: She doesn’t have a name for a girl but my sister and I suggested Julia. Then, there is my paternal aunt about to give birth anytime soon but she knows the baby is a girl from the ultrasound (This aunt has 2 girls already). I’m really excited. That brings us a total of 18 cousins on my mom’s side and a total of 10 cousins on my dad’s side (all girls). That’s nothing compared to mom’s 80 first cousins (all on her maternal side) . That’s a lot huh?

A car ride
Sometimes I wonder if the only reason my friends want me to go places with them is because I can provide transportation. Why the hell can’t I have friends who have their own cars? [read more?]

weblog vs journal
A reporter wanted to do an email interview of my weblog because it was “appealing". Naturally I got confused so I asked her “is it the group blog , BLOGGED or my online journal, nimrodel.net?” When she replied that it was nimrodel.net, I wrote her back and said that it is more of a journal than a weblog. If you want to see the difference, read this journal vs. weblog. The online journals became the trend before the weblog so there seems to be a bit of confusion there. However, some don’t make a distinction and combine a journal and a weblog . Sometimes I blog snippets of my life in BLOGGED without much fanfare . But clearly, “A person who keeps a diary or journal online is logging their life, not the web, no matter how they get their words out.”
Have you noticed that online journals are a dying breed? How many journals do you read now? Blogs are just easier to read , especially if you have 30 daily blog links.
Meditation
I spent some of my spare time today learning about the basics of meditation and a few Buddhist philosophies from my Tita Lorna. I never realized that meditation could be so relaxing. I always wondered why anyone would want to sit with their eyes closed for a long time. [read more?]

Just a friend
The catchy beat of Just a friend was playing on the car radio . My sister blurts out that it is by Too Phat from Malaysia. She added that the video is quite funny. It’s about this guy that ” has always remained faithful to his sweetheart, something which can’t be said of his girl. Many a time he catches her with another ‘bloke’ but she always reassures him that the other is ‘just a friend’. Eventually, he finds out the painful truth… that the other bloke is really a babe! ” Eeps.
Can I see the hole?
Lele’s blog entry on holes reminded me of this conversation between my 6 year old guy cousin and my pregnant aunt-doctor. Overheard:
Cousin: How do babies come out?
Aunt : (starts drawing on sheet of paper) This hole is where the pee comes out and this other hole is where the poop goes out. This other hole in the middle is the perineum and that’s where the baby comes out.
Cousin: *amazed*
Aunt: But boys have only 2 holes and girls have 3.
Cousin: OH, can I look?
Aunt: *taken by surprise* Erm, you can’t.
Kids are so innocent.

durian coffee
Durian coffee (durian with espresso and steamed milk) is so exotic. Yummy! I drank that together with an adobo mushroom sandwich in this smalll coffee shop with my Aunt Lorna.
