US troops in the Philippines

Ash , Yume and some people have been wondering about my opinion on the presence of US troops in the Philippines. I am opposed to their presence because it will just make things worse for everyone. And since there have been opposition by some Filipinos, 2 TV stations recently aired that controversial video of beheading captives. Ugh, I don’t want the American missionaries or the Filipina nurse beheaded . I cringe at the thought of Abu Sayaf retaliating because of their presence.

Also, the entry of these troops is in violation of the Philippine Constitution. And haven’t we learned from the past? Remember the Philippine-American War of 1899-1916 where one-eighth of the Filipino population was murdered by US troops- to the toxic wastes still left by the US bases that the US refuses to clean up? What about the Vietnam war and how it began ? First with advisers and trainors, then combat troops. Okay the subject matter is something that terrifies me.
